Encruzado is a productive and regular Portuguese white grape variety, cultivated mainly in Dão, where it is native. Widely used together with other grape varieties to brighten other Dão wines, as it is perfect for adding acidity and vivacity . When well crafted, it brings delicate aromas of roses and violets, soft citrus and resin notes, and, sometimes, intense mineral notes.
One of its great abilities is to maintain a balance between sugar and acidity, creating serious and structured wines, unctuous and with an extraordinary aging capacity.
